This is just a little test of kate, which I am running on fedora 11 under Gnome. This is just to see if KDE apps run. I know kstars runs, as does Celestia. I have installed many packages.
I want to explore music editors, especially those that do notation, that are availavle with Fedora, but yet again I have trouble getting sound to work under Red Hat.
Today and Yesterday I have been working on Mozart's Idomeneo, with a score from the Urtext. The voice parts are all in movable do, which I am getting better at reading by sight, although it is hard to switch between clefs, especially for tenor and saprano.
I was at Cafe Barone at noontime because Jack Martinez came in at 10:30. I had a nice long visit with him and we ate lunch. As he was getting ready to leave a woman came in who looked much like Sylvia Bryan did in 2002. I was sure that it wasn't her, in fact this woman looked thinner and shorter but she had the same dark hair past her shoulders and with the grey streaks. Judging by my self, my hair looks white in certain light and more black with silver in others. I would imagine that Sylvia is much whiter now than she was in 2003 when last I saw her. It was nice to read and listen to such beautiful music with someone who reminded me of her. There was a woman visiting from out of state who also looked like Sylvia that I met about four months ago, This woman had once lived here on Stanford Avenue in Palo Alto, but she lives in North Carolina and may move out here again. She has the wonderfully musical Southern acent of that part of the nation. He name is hard to remember, it might be Kitzie. I have no desire to seek Sylvia Bryan out, even though I know that she lives close by.
