2005-11-18 Changes Bruce says: I have begun doing my blog ( follow the link above ) based on XML. The data is rendered for the web via a stylesheet in XSL that generates HTML markup. Let me know if you have a browser that cannot see the rendered data. Browsers like IE 5, Mozilla, and other recent browsers should be able to handle XML with a stylesheet. 2005-9-30 Changes Bruce says: This site has undergone a major redesign. The music essays are broken up into screen sized pages. My personal pages have a blog done in the same way. There is still design work to be done to make this better, and more frequent addition of content. I have added short essays on song forms and rondo. 2005-6-4 beginnings Bruce says: I am adding a great deal to this site, standardizig its look; adding overview material on my thinking about music, and new materials on who I am. This will be pushed out in a couple of days. 2005-1-26 beginnings Bruce says: This is a start for a web journal. The design and creative ideas are jelling. A style for this stream of thoughts will emerge. 2005-1-25 A work in progress Bruce says: I am sure that the details of the design will be in flux for a long time. I came up with the color scheme inspired by the pink camellia logo I gimped from one of my digital photos, one of many I took last year at a particular place near here with lots of very pretty pink flowers. I like the pink and green colors, but I want to find a sexier font. 2005-1-24 Inaguration of this site Bruce says: This is the web journal page for the domain euphon.org. The domain name was devised to have levels of meaning. It reflectes my passion for music, mostly but not exclusively the chamber and orchestral serious music tradition, and it can have other connotations including a personal and spiritial harmony as well as musical harmony in the literal sense. I wanted to have euphony.org, but that domain is already in use. I am sure the names connoting a true sound or voice, or the other meaning of anything generally harmonious, is popular with telecommunications companies. In fact, I was alittle surprized that euphon.org was not takem by some Europian Union based phone company, Ok make me an offer :-) An obvious play on words does not escape me where if you dislike me the domain name could be corrupted to "You Phoney", so I'll take this opportunuty to get that one out of our systems. |
