Update on my situation
I haven't updated here lately, been writing in a sketchbook, but basically
not much has changed. I not working and seriously doubt I will find work
before I can retire at age 62 in December, but I still have to find a way
to live and a roof over my head from July until December.
I have given up on Deptarment of Rehabilitation and its contractor, Sensory
Aids Foundation on giving me the help I need: off-line insider referals to
local tech companies in the Sunnyvale area. The job developer doesn't have a
clue. She can't grasp the specificity of my skills. She is not competant to
help me. I thought SAF was going to be an inside track, but it isn't. The
job developer works with the same on-line garbage, like I do. I think that
SAF burnt its bridges with its tech partners long ago by overselling under-
qualified candidtates and it is a pariah among the HR department in its
locale. I am going to have to do any job hunt on my own. The Government is
largely a time waster, people go through the motions of doing a service and
don't deliver. The system of regulations is designed to make it hard to get
services and protects the beaucracy. If most Americans wise up to this, they
will throw off the government. This is the fault of Congress and the
representation system we have. It is too prone to corruption. The founders
did not have it right. They weakened the incentives of the legislative bodies
to serve the people and made it too easy for special interests to control
how things are done.
